The National Urban Alliance for Effective Education (NUA) proudly announces and invites you to attend and participate in the Teaching For Intelligence: Believe to Achieve Conferences.
NUA's Stated Mission is to substantiate in the public schools of urban America an irrefutable belief in the capacity of all children to reach the highest levels of learning & thinking demanded by our ever-changing global community.
NUA’s Focus is on learning and teaching, and building toward high intellectual performance through students’ culture, language, and cognition.
NUA’s Conferences are extensions of its mission and focus and, at the same time, will be a coming together of kindred spirits who have dedicated themselves to educating all of our children.
This conference will:
Examine the major education issues confronting teachers and administrators, students and parents, and, ultimately all of society.
Expose participants to instructional approaches proven to increase performance, literacy, confidence and competence of all children.
Engage participants in a consideration of the unique issues presented by teaching in an urban environment with emphasis on the interconnectedness of culture, language and cognition.
Provide participants with a place and atmosphere to reflect and renew.
Give participants the opportunity to dialogue with researchers, theorists and practitioners with special expertise in effecting change for the benefit of all children.
Please go to the Birmingham Conference pages to see the featured speakers and the themes of the conferences. There you will also find information on registering, presenting, hotels and transportation.
